How to Join

Membership of the group is free.  The benefits of membership include: support for session organisation and research group guests at the annual RGS-IBG conference; the ability to apply for SCGRG grants for events; notification of relevant geography research conferences, symposia and activities; opportunities to broadcast your events to a dedicated group of researchers in social and cultural geography via the web; and representation of social and cultural geography research group interests to the RGS.

For RGS members and fellows, you can either tick the form when you join the RGS-IBG, or complete and send off the following form at any time.

For non-RGS members or fellows, you can email our Membership Secretary William Jamieson (William.jamieson@rhul.ac.uk) to be added to our lists.

We do not currently charge non-RGS members.

You can also keep in touch with the activities of the Social and Cultural Geography Research Group via Bluesky (@scgrg.bsky.social‬).  These resources are run collaboratively by the committee, and we welcome your input.  We are very happy for all members, and others, to make use of these social media to post news or ask us to retweet items and events that will be of interest to the rest of the group.
